Michael Craig-Martin has been producing effortless depictions of an immense variety of objects for over 40 years. His highly distinctive personal language is testament to his process of investigation and distillation through which he eventually arrives at the perfect expression of the 'thingness' of each object.
The present work was exhibited in Craig-Martin's exhibition Transience at the Serpentine Galleries in 2015 and acquired along with Untitled (corkscrew), 2014 (below) on behalf of a Private UK Collector in 2016.
